ICHoLS XVII — Niterói, 23–27 August 2027
Circular 2 — Submission of individual and co-authored papers
Dear researchers,
Following the call for papers for ICHoLS XVII, which will be held from 23 to 27 August 2027 in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, we are pleased to announce that the submission system for individual and co-authored papers (with up to 2 co-authors) will be available from 9 October 2026.
All proposals must be submitted exclusively through the system: https://ichols17.academiacc.com.br/
Proposals may be submitted by one or two authors. Each proposal must contain up to 400 words (excluding the bibliography) and may include up to five keywords.
Choosing a workshop
At the time of submission, proponents must indicate the thematic workshop to which they wish to submit their paper.
The system includes Open Thematic Workshops, to which individual and co-authored proposals may be submitted directly. In addition to the open thematic workshops, there is a Free Workshop (code SIMPLIV) for proposals that, although related to the history, epistemology, or historiographical issues of the language sciences, do not fit adequately within the themes of the open workshops available in the system.
The workshop selected at the time of submission does not prevent the Organizing Committee, if deemed necessary, from reassigning a proposal initially submitted to the Free Workshop to one of the Open Thematic Workshops, according to thematic relevance and the overall organization of the event program.
Each workshop will include up to 8 papers. Presentations will last up to 20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion. If more than 4 papers are accepted for the same workshop, it will be held in two sessions. Each session will last 2 hours.
Deadlines
The submission period for individual and co-authored papers (with up to 2 co-authors) will run from 9 October to 19 November 2026. Notifications regarding proposals submitted in this category will be sent from 21 January 2027 onward.

Registration fees
For researchers
• From 21 January to 21 February 2027: R$ 400 (four hundred reais)
• Until 22 February 2027: R$ 600 (six hundred reais)
• Until 23 March 2027: R$ 700 (seven hundred reais)
• Until 1 June 2027: R$ 950 (nine hundred and fifty reais)
For doctoral students
• From 21 January to 21 February 2027: R$ 200 (two hundred reais)
• Until 22 February 2027: R$ 300 (three hundred reais)
• Until 23 March 2027: R$ 400 (four hundred reais)
• Until 1 June 2027: R$ 550 (five hundred and fifty reais)
Payment
For Brazilian participants, payment may be made via PIX or bank transfer.
For international participants, payment will be made via Wise, with the amount converted within the card application itself.
